Common Questions About East Texas Psychiatry and Counseling
What services does East Texas Psychiatry provide?
Our practice offers comprehensive adult psychiatric care including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, anxiety and depression treatment, mood disorder management, addiction psychiatry, and SPRAVATO® therapy for treatment-resistant depression. We also provide psychotherapy services including CBT, DBT, and EMDR.
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Absolutely. Our telepsychiatry program serves patients throughout Texas using a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Virtual visits are available for initial evaluations, follow-up appointments, therapy sessions, and medication management—delivering the same quality care without requiring travel.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your initial consultation is a thorough 90-minute psychiatric evaluation. We’ll discuss your symptoms, medical history, life circumstances, and treatment goals. Together, we’ll develop a personalized care plan. If medication is recommended, prescriptions can be sent to your pharmacy that same day.
How soon can I be seen?
We prioritize accessibility and typically offer same-week appointments for new patients. We know that struggling with mental health symptoms while waiting weeks for care only makes things harder—that’s why rapid access is central to our practice.
How does follow-up care work?
After your initial evaluation, we schedule regular follow-up visits to monitor your progress, adjust medications as needed, and address any concerns. Early in treatment, appointments are typically every two to four weeks. As you stabilize, visits become less frequent. Our patient portal keeps you connected between appointments.
What conditions do you treat?
We treat the full spectrum of adult mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, panic attacks, substance use disorders, personality disorders, women’s mental health concerns, and more.
Do you offer therapy in addition to medication?
Yes. We believe integrated treatment produces the best outcomes for many people. Our team provides evidence-based psychotherapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and trauma-focused approaches like EMDR alongside psychiatric medication management.
How do I get started?
Call us at 430-288-5800 or request an appointment online. Our intake team will answer your questions, verify insurance benefits, and schedule your initial consultation—usually within the same week.
